Let's Eat Goblin Feet

Hey Ghouls!
Your Ghoul friend here. Long time no post! Your ghoul friend has been immensely busy. But I'm coming back to you undead and ready to share a spook-tacular treat! This treat is called Goblin Feet. I know it sounds scary but this treat is really easy and really fun. all you need is some nutter butter cookies, some green candy melts or meltable candy wafers and some cashew halves.

Instructions
  1. Follow the instructions on the candy wafer package to melt the wafers in a wide bowl. For each goblin foot, hold the edge of a cookie and dip it in the melted candy.
  2. Place the cookie on a sheet of waxed paper and use a spoon to smooth the candy over the spot your fingers covered.
  3. Place three cashew halves on the cookie for claws. (The candy may need to cool a minute or two for it to be stiff enough to hold the nuts in place.) Let the cookies set at room temperature (Source Disney Family Fun)

See i told you ghouls. easy as 1-2-3 LITERALLY. Hope you all enjoy this quick little treat from your ghoul friend. ENJOY

    Love,

Halloween Classics

Hey Ghouls!

Are you needing to get into the Halloween spirit? Something that helps me is watching a classic Horror movie! Need a suggestion on what to watch?
Here is a LINK to the "Top 20 Scary Halloween Movies" according to Readers Digest. This list includes classics like "The Shining", "Silence of the Lambs", and "The Exorcist".

One of my favorite scary movies is "Pet Sematary". I can remember watching this at a friends house when I was younger on Halloween. It totally freaked me out and this movie still terrifies me to this day.

Of course, you could always watch movies that feature the classic characters that you always see around this time of year. "Nightmare on Elm Street" features Freddie Krueger and "Halloween" features Michael Myers. These are both characters that seem to dominate haunted houses and costume stores.

If you aren't quite into the Halloween spirit yet, try watching one of these terrifying movies. They won't disappoint!

Happy Haunting!

Sexy vampire

My costume from last year But that's not me lol

Hello ghouls!

This is one of your ghoul friends here and I was just stopping by to do a more focused blog on the sexy vampire look in the make up snse.

The reason why I wanted to do this was because the vampire is starting to become a much more popular costume, and I just wanted to elaborate on it and help out a bit more.

last year (2010) I was a "seductive/sexy" vampire for Halloween last year, and I loved it. the make up look was quite easy to achieve. the look that I tried to replicate was THIS look. Mine didn't come out exactly like that because i had to improvise with my make up because I didn't have all of the same colors but it came out pretty good.

My vamp eye make up
As the photo of my make up suggests mine was a little light but that is mainly because the darker kind of make up didn't really show up that well on my skin tone.

That's one thing you must always consider while thinking about your make up. what goes good wit your skin tone. Every skin tone can recreate any make up look, you just have to readjust the amount of colors you use or what kind of make up you use. If I wanted to portray the link that I posted the link to, I would have to get cream shadow in order for it to show up. on halloween I had some foundation that was to light for me so I just used that to get that pale finish. I'm not a fan of white make up because it seems so extreme and unrealistically pale.

From source
Other than make up accessories are important as well. I bought fangs and a crosslike choker. You can just about get accessories like that anywhere. and if you want to go all out get a wig. it will add to the illusion. For more accessories Check This Out. it has everything you need to be looking at.

I just wanted to elaborate a little on that one costume look because it's a popular one and I just wanted to give you a little bit more info on that costume

Once again have fun with it! It's halloween! anyways ghouls, enjoy yourself!

Have fun
Love

Spooky Times!

Hey Ghouls!

Spooky... Terrifying... Chilling... Exciting... These are all words describing my favorite thing about the Halloween season. Haunted houses are the best activity to enjoy with your friends before Halloween.  To help you get excited for the scariest night of the year, I'm going to talk about my favorite haunted house located in Louisville, KY.
Waverly Hills Sanatorium is "one of the scariest places on earth".  Waverly Hills was built in the early 1900's and served as a tuberculosis hospital. Over 50,000 people died in this building. Waverly Hills is best known for its body chute. This is an underground tunnel that the staff would transport the dead bodies through. This location has been the focus of many different television shows such as Ghost Adventures and Ghost Hunters

If you are a fan of investigating paranormal activity, Waverly Hills offers just the tour for you! You can go on a ghost hunt through the building and do some investigation for an entire night if you please. The costs range from $50-$100. If you are more of a history buff, you can attend a historical tour for $22. This tour lasts 2 hours. You must call ahead and reserve a space in each one of these tours. Hurry! They fill up fast.

From September 23-October 30 (Fridays and Saturdays only), Waverly Hills features a terrifying haunted house. Chain saws, clowns, monsters, darkness, and anything scary are common sights while
walking through this haunted house. You will be so scared that you will be running to get out of there. You will even be able to walk through the body chute! Cost is $20.00 and the house is open between 8pm and 1am.

For more information, visit The Waverly Hills Webpage

You can also "like" Waverly Hills on Facebook

Follow them on their TWITTER as well!!

I encourage you to check this place out! You won't regret it!

Have fun!

Halloween Make Up!!!

Bride of Frankenstein Make up
Screen Clipping of TheTeamErin Make Up tutorial

Whats up Ghouls?

We have talked about the costumes but that's not all you have to think about. What costume is complete without.....MAKEUP! NONE! so I'm going to give you a few tips on the make up.

Of course it must match your costume. It's the point of the make up. It's to accentuate the aesthetics of your costume. Make sure the make up fits the costune. So if you are being the bride of Frankenstein You must have the make up to match.

The picture that I have inserted on the left is an easy Bride Of Frankenstein look. This is one of the more literal looks when it comes to make up. Your make up should fit the character but should also fit the mood. if you want your look to be more scary, go with a more Scary look and if you want to be more sexy Go with that kind of make up.

For me when I have a costume I always try my best to use the make up I already have for my costume but if I don't have the kind i need and I don't feel like dropping a boat load of cash, I will just go with the drugstore kits that they have. The reason why I try my best to use my make up because I know how my skin will react to it, while the drugstore kits they put in the stores every year seem to give my skin a bad reaction, but if you want to use those kits (which have good instructions on how to do the looks) you can.

Once again HAVE FUN with this. Putting your costume on shouldn't be a chore, play around with it, and do what you think works best fore you. I'm just giving some tips on things. If you could care less about the make up of your costume, then don't worry about it i'm sure you will have a Scary-cool time at whatever you do.

Happy Haunting!

Your Ghoul Friends

COSTUMES! WHAT DO I PICK?

 Hey Ghouls!
With halloween coming up, halloween costumes are flying onto shelves and halloween specialty stores are starting to open up (i.e Halloween Express, Halloween city, etc) and you are starting to get a LOT of costume choices.
Ok Ghouls, I know we all want to be Franken-tastic but where do you start? what do I look for? Have no fear your ghoul friends are here coming to you with our tips on picking the perfect costume for your Halloween.

1. One of the main things to consider while looking for a costume is the price. How much are you willing to spend on a costume? Are you making your own? You have to consider the price of the accessories as well.
2. Consider what kind of costume you want. You don’t have to know what you want to be but it makes it a lot easier when shopping for your costume and you have an idea of what you need.
3. *IMPORTATNT*TRY ON THE COSTUME! You don’t want to get home and try on the outfit then find out that it doesn’t fit. THE MAJORITY OF COSTUMES ARE NON REFUNDABLE so you have just wasted some money on buying an outfit you can’t fit, so to avoid this problem, try on the costume at the store.

4. Get something that you know you would feel comfortable in. Especially if you are a girl. Some women’s costumes are quite revealing and a little short and tight, be sure to get one that you are comfortable wearing. If you aren’t comfy in tight fitting clothes and short clothes then don’t get one of those outfits.

5. Last but not least HAVE FUN WITH IT! Nothing like having fun while picking out costumes. Halloween is fun and you shouldn’t dread one of the cornerstones of the holiday. If you can’t afford a costume then make your own. This Site offers tips on how to make your own costume and to get your  creativity going. *bonus video above of a fave DIY Costume Tutorial above*

HALLOWEEN CAKE POPS!

Whats up ghoul friends!

We are going to start this blog off with an extremely cute, fun and easy ghoultastic snack that you can serve at a Halloween party or family function, and if you have kids, you can decorate these cute little cake pops with them (with your supervision of course). This recipe is super easy. The first thing you have to do is bake a little cake. it can just be a rectangle pan and you are using 1 box of cake mix. all you do is crumble up the cake into a bowl and add about 3/4 of the can of prepared icing and Make them into balls (explained better in the video posted at the end). After that the fun part begins(scroll down for recipes)

Ingredients
  • 48 uncoated Basic Cake Balls
  • 48 ounces (3 pounds) orange candy coating
  • Deep, microwave-safe bowl
  • 48 paper lollipop sticks
  • 48 green Tic Tac mints or similarly shaped candy
  • Styrofoam block
  • Black edible-ink pen

Directions

1. Have the cake balls chilled and in the refrigerator.
2. Melt the orange candy coating in a microwave-safe plastic bowl, following instructions on the package. The coating should be about 3 inches deep for easier dipping. (It'sbest to work with about 16 ounces of coating at a time.)
3. When you are ready to dip, remove a few cake balls from the refrigerator at a time.
4. One at a time, dip about 1/2 inch of the tip of a lollipop stick into the melted candy coating, and insert the stick straight into a cake ball, pushing it no more than halfwaythrough. Dip the cake pop into the melted coating, and tap off any excess coating: Hold the pop over the bowl in one hand, and tap your wrist gently with your other hand.(If you use the hand holding the cake pop to shake off excess coating, the force of the movement will be too strong and could cause the cake ball to loosen or fly off the lollipop stick.) The excess coating will fall off, but you will need to rotate the lollipop stick so the coating doesn't build up on one side, making it too heavy on that side. If too much coating starts to build up at the base of the stick, simply use your finger to wipe it off, spinning the lollipop stick at the same time. This can happen if the coating is too thin or too hot. It's not as hard as it sounds; it just takes a little practice.
5. Immediately insert a Tic Tac into the very top of the pumpkin pop. Hold in place until set, and let dry completely in the Styrofoam block. Repeat with the remaining pumpkins until they all have stems.
6. Add jack-o'-lantern faces with a black edible-ink pen, and let dry completely in the Styrofoam block. (Source: Family Circle Cake Pop recipe

The result of the finished product should look like (or close to) this>>>>>>

There are many different ways you can decorate these. You can make cats or ghosts or mummies. The site that I have used (source: Family Circle) has ways to do all of the different kinds of characters, but we used the jack o lantern example because they are the easiest ones.

One of the great things about this recipe is that you can make cake pops for any occasion. I hope you enjoy the cake pops (for the record, they are a hit at any party.I have tried before) and HAVE FUN GHOULS!
